A cool new British film has opened in the UK this week portraying some of the bands from the early days of rock 'n' roll who used VOX amps. During filming, VOX helped Director Nick Moran with the provision of AC30's and AC15's to ensure that everything looked authentic on the set.
Spinal Tap are Back From The Dead - 2009-06-18 15:30:35
'Back From The Dead' is the follow up album to the early 90's release 'Break Like The Wind'. This release sees 'the Tap' (David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls) unearth studio versions of tracks which were featured in the cult rockumentary 'This Is Spinal Tap'. The new album, which is available this week will be released as a 19 track CD (including 6 new tracks) and an hour-long DVD digipack which neatly folds open out to create a mock up stage with 12" pop-up figures of the band (Stonehenge included).

Bill's choice of the amps were down to the "Great versatility for recreating that classic Vox 60s sound and the bonus of selecting the newer Vox sound as well." Photographs taken by the late Bob Bonis are currently being exhibited at the Not Fade Away Gallery in New York which feature previously unseen, and some quite candid shots of the Rolling Stones (images) and The Beatles (images). Bonis served as a road manager for the Rolling Stones and the Beatles throughout their tours of the United States during the mid sixties and his son Alex recently unearthed this outstanding collection of negatives and slides.
