as i am really new to music on computers, and band in a box manual is like phone book,
can anyone tell me how to set it up with jamvox. thanks for any help. fred.
Go to Preferences -> Audio -> Hardware and select ASIO Jamvox for output also input if you wanna record, and that's all
hi kampanita.
totally forgot i had put this post on as i had been on band in a box site so much.
did what you said but biab keeps crashing, or i get error messages or when it does play it is distorted.
thank you for the link . FRED.
Be sure to use your internal card as default audio device at Windows.
Then start JamVOX soft (( 1.52 ;)) and then Biab -> Go to audio preferences at BIAB and select jamVOX ASIO Drv at audio drivers , have a look:

thanks kampanita, will give that a go tomorrow
and let you know how i get on. FRED.
hi kampanita,
just tried above.
windows 7 set sound realtek
opened jamvox 1.52.
opened biab 2012 opt, preferences, audio, selected jamvox resample quality good,
input/output both say (0.1) l jamvox 1/2+ r jamvox 1/2 press ok biab crashes saying
biab application has stopped working. any help. FRED
I remember that i had that problem too. After crashing BIAB for first time ( when selecting JamVOX drv ) it works well.
Uhm, but you don't need to configure BIAB for jamvox...if you only want BIAB for backtracking composition, just use it with your internal card. Create your tracks. Export them and use them at Audacity. There is no need to configure biab with jamvox...
But can be done, i'm using it at Win7 Ultimate 32bits + BIAB 2010 + JamVOX 1.52
yes i think i will have to do it that way but i might try it with my line 6 toneport ux2.
how do you export tracks to audacity, tried it but then i could not find where the
track was on my computer, do you drag and drop to audacity, thanks for any help. FRED.
Hi Fred. In order to export tracks from BIAB to Audacity you must use the WAV button.
When the new window popups , you'll see a button that says "Choose". Press there and select WHERE you want your files exported to.

Also there is a checkbox that says "One file per track". I use that in order to get drums and bass at different wav files, and import them at different tracks at audacity....so i can play with volumes and pannings in an indepent way ( if you do not check that, then drum and bass are exported mixed to a unique file.
In order to get those tracks at audacity , just go to audacity -> file -> import.
hi kampanita.
cannot seem to find file when i save, which option do you select when saving?
i ended up burning to disc, then loading disc into itunes, then into jamvox,
then recorded into audacity. very pleased with result but a very long way of
doing things. nearly there but not quite. FRED.
Hi, follow this steps ....
- Create your song at biab ( or load it )
- I usually use VST plugins for bass and drums, just load and configure then if you use them, if not, do nothing at this point.
- Press "WAV" button ( you can see it at previous attached image )
- Then press to "Choose" button and select a folder...then put a name to the WAV File.
- Press on "One file per track" check box
- Press on "DXI Direct Render ( save wav file ) " button
And wait until all files are written. When the message in yellow appears, then just go to the folder you selected for output , and there will be your WAV files that can be imported at Audacity :

all done and working great, after pressing one file per track
i was not pressing dxi render but one of the other options.
now thanks to you i can write my song in biab, send it to audacity,
and record my guitar with jamvox,
this is the basic thing i got biab for, and without your help i do not
know where i would be up to right now,
so once again thanks Kampanita,
all the best. FRED.
You're welcome Fred ! ;)
That was the same reason for buying JamVOX...being able to record guitars in a simple manner and being able to mix my own songs....I use BIAB cause i do not play drums, it's difficult for me programming that part, so i let BIAB do the dirty job ;)
As i said before, now i'm using Logic Studio ( it only works on xp) for mixing, but basically is the same method as with Audacity.
Have a look to one of my songs recorded with this method

had a good look at your videos, really good, great sound and very nice cat.
I want to record guitar track into BIAB directly (without exporting BIAB song as WAV then record guitar track with audacity). How to blend JamVox 3.01 into BIAB?
Thanks!
