I'm new to this amp, so hopefully I'm just doing something wrong here.
I'm trying to play a backing track (from the computer's headphone cable to the return loop jack on the back) while also playing the guitar. The track comes through fine, but when the return loop is plugged in, the guitar input seems to be getting bypassed. It's happening on both the high and low guitar inputs. When I removed the cord from return loop jack, it works fine.
I'm assuming that I should be able to play both a backing track and the guitar simultaneously.
Any ideas?
When you plug into just the 'Return' you are NOT activating the effects loop. You are actually using the amp as a 'power-amp' only which bypasses all the normal amp models/effects, and the majority of controls. So the behaviour you are experiencing is correct.
Unlike the VT+ series, the Blue series amps do not have a dedicated auxilliary input for playing 'mp3' tracks etc from a computer. I've not tried to do this myself so others here may be able to advise you whether its possible to achieve the result you require, but you might try either a dummy jack in the FX 'send' to activate the FX loop or using a Y cable to split the computer signal through the FX loop, and see if either gives the desired result.
Since I can't seem to start a new thread I'll ask my question here...
The ad60vt DOES have an fx loop doesn't it?
My problem is similar to the gentleman above. When ever I plug a chord into either the "send" or "return" section, the amp goes silent. I wanted to add an EQ to the mix. Im wondering if I'm either A)doing something wrong or B) the fx loop section is fried or broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, the AD60VT has a serial mono FX loop. To add an EQ in the FX loop you need two cables and BOTH send & return are used:
IN of EQ pedal > FX SEND
OUT of EQ pedal > FX RETURN
Thanks.
I did try that already actually. All that is happening is the amp goes silent. I've tried different pedals as well. Any other ideas?
Most likely your jack sockets are badly oxidised. Clean the FX loop jacks thoroughly with electrical switch cleaner. They are switchable jacks & can stick/oxidise which is possibly what's happened. Read here:

Thank you for the recommendation voxman. Is electrical switch cleaner available at any hardware store?
There are three important criteria's to look for in the cleaner;
1). Electronics grade contact cleaner
2). Safe for use around plastics
3). Lubricant must be included in the cleaner
Have you checked your cables? A bad cable will cause your problem, you can test a cable by inserting it into the guitar input and touching the other end of the cable tip, amp will buzz when cable tip is touched, if no buzz the cable is bad.
Hi Bob. Thanks for the info. I have indeed tried multiple cables and the result is the same. Once the cable is inserted into either or both jacks the amp goes completely silent, with no hum or buzz or any noise.
Try inserting a single cable from the SEND into the RETURN, then gently wiggle the cable end where it plugs into each jack, you may have a bad solder connection at one of the jacks (wiggling will sometimes momentarily make a connection).
