Which is the difference between an A or AB Class Amp?

Class A amps run hotter, go through tubes quicker, are less efficient, but have a more complex compressed vintagy tone, and are brighter sounding with a typical glassy tone you just can't get from a Class A/B amp - Class A/B are more efficient, run cooler, and are arguably more 'dynamic' sounding with a punchier, tighter feel.
