OK guys I bought the Jam Vox after reading an article in a guitar mag when the Jam Vox first came out and have enjoyed both the look and feel and functionality. Yes there were teething problems at the start. But these were soon ironed out.
I have being playing the guitar since 1973 and have been in bands during the 70's 80's and 90's and during 2006 I started to re build my 1962 Hofner Colorama. I also bought a 1989 Black Custom Strat so I could start playing again; the Jam Vox was perfect as I could not justify a 100w valve head and stack.
This new version is just unusable, the functionality is no longer user friendly and look and feel is just so IKEA.
Original version was road warn and had the Vox feel. This version has been designed totally by new (and dare I say it), young gaming geeks with no idea about the music, history and culture.
The new interface in "nice new shiny equipment on nice new shiny IKEA laminate flooring. The usability has completely changes and the user friendliness has gone.
I know you are thinking “Aging rocker out of touch with technology” but I have spent the past 15 years heading up software development teams both on and off-line on a major scale and this new version of the Jam Vox has disappointed me so much so that I have stopped using this version or its upgrade and will be reverting the original that came with the monitor (pops bangs and all). Or maybe I should just buy a valve head and stack.
Sorry Vox but I feel you have got it wrong and so do 20 out of the 27 people I recommended this kit too.
