Is it possible to put a B7 on a stock SG that currently has a stop bar tailpiece? Would there be issues with the old post holes? Cause it seems like one of the mounting screws for the Bigsby would line up and a little TOO well with the old post holes and give you nothing but empty space to drill into.

And also would it be basically visually covered by the unit? If this is the case I would just fill it with some red stained wood filler and figure the other three mounting screws going into solid wood would be adequate for a solid body guitar.

I put a B5 on an epi Wilshire and it worked out very well. As you stated the holes don't line up, but I packed them with black material and you don't even see the holes when you look at the guitar as they are partly obscured anyway. The Wilshire and the SG have a similar structure so the look would be about the same. I also put in Gibson '57 classics and new electronics while I had it apart and it is now a little beast of a guitar. Nice project that my son and I did together. He prefers it to my Gibson Les Paul. I hate to admit it, but so do I for a lot of songs.

That sounds cool. I looked up that guitar and for pics of one with a B5 and yeah... that does look pretty hot.

I don't like em on SG's though. The B7 looks so much better... and I've seen people do it... but I'm just curious how logistically difficult it is.

I like the big full look of it... and since finding a lefty Lyre is practically impossible... the B7 looks like the next best choice.
