I just got my AC4TV, i hope this forum still alive....
I love it! great clean and od tone. Big love! But.... I've got a question about it .... It just a little thing, but it bothers me...
When I turn it on, it without any sound from the amp, but when I turn it off, it "pop"... why is that? is that normal? or anything broken?
Yep still here and i wouldnt call that normal do you leave the volume up when you shut it off or your guitar volume up either way mine might make a slight noise when i shut it off with the volume up but no pop. And yes i love my amp to they rock.
oh god! great! you still here! thx a lot! I turn off the volume of the amp and guitar, but there are still a "pop" when I turn off the amp. I don't know how to describe that sound, uhm... not "pop"... it's...i can't describe... but just a sound came from the amp....
When mine is powering off it makes a sort of crackly sound; it has always done it, don't worry about it, that's valves !!
Superb liitle amp , I would love to play mine through some big cabinet speakers one day just to see how it sounds.
if you still have the stock valves in there ( which I believe are Sovteks) I changed mine to JJ's and could not believe just how much better it sounds :-)
Enjoy
I have played my amp from 1x12 cab all the way 4x12 and they sound amazing through larger
cabs if you look in the ac4 forum you find threads on bigger cabs and valves chansges and such
And the amp noise one of my older amps transformers can be heard kicking on and off.
Good Luck Ryan
Thx vortexmike! Yep! It's sort of crackly sound.... But... so wierd... that sound disappeared this afternoon.... I don't know why.... I didn't open it to see what valves in it... but i believe it should be Sovteks... and JJ's ? what the exactly model? thx... i will buy a cabs... maybe 2x12.... 4x12 it's too big for my bedroom....
thx you guys... you're so nice....
No problem henry hope your having a great time with your new amp and this forum
is full of great people willing to help you out if they can i will be a life long member
because of things such as that.
I just buy a Filter power outlet, it's on the way to my house... I think that would help to steady the power and the current.
Mine never pops, you have to know how to power up and power down properly.. Before shutting off your amp make sure the volume on the guitar is turned off. Then turn off the amp, finally then shut off your pedalboard supply. When powering up, make sure the volume on your guitar is off, power up your pedal board supply and then turn on your amp. Then turn on the volume on the guitar.
If this doesn't work you may have issues with your amp and need servicing.
