No power with macbook air

I bought the Jamvox a few weeks back and just got around to installing today. Problem is when I plug the monitor into the macbook air, the power light flashes then goes off. I tried putting in on my Dell laptop and it powers up. Just wondering if I need to get an external USB hub with power? My Lexicon Alpha and other USB peripherals work fine. Anyone else using an older Macbook Air with the same problem?

Got a powered hub and it is now working. Guess the output on the Macbook Air isn't enough to power the monitor.

Hi!
Same Prob here. JamVox on an iMac: plug in, led flashes four times, not recognized...
on a Win7 PC, flashes just once, no recognition either.
Sent back to the dealer, got it sent back: "tested, no errors".
Not even the workaroung with a powered USB worked on either machine.
Any ideas?

Yeah, did that. It worked on either machine. Got a JV from a friend and that one DID WORK on both machines with or without the powered hub :-(
