Hey Voxman do you think that there are any good effects loop mods that I could put on my VT50 so I could have like an MXR 10-band EQ?

We only have one for the ADxxVT chromes on Valvetronix.net. We have no technical specs/service manuals for the new VT's as Vox don't release these anymore.
I suspect the modification is similar - but unless you're experienced at this type of thing I recommend you let a qualified amp tech do the work - it's not difficult or expensive. It may invalidate your warranty though.
We have some excellent tech guys on Valvetronix.net, so pop in & have a chat there. I'm also about to open a new 'technical' section to house some excellent technical contributions that are posted.

I know that there has been EQ issues with the VT50 and Vt100, even some user of vt30 says the bass is a little bit woofy and undefined.
My main issue is VT50' overwhelming bass response. Try getting a clear bass response from the low E and A string with bass at noon, not posible.
To make a long story short. I read a review wrtitten by a sound engineer about the VT50. He is spot on. Playing at band levels never have bass knob past 9 o'clock.
I have stored all the sounds with bass knob at 9 'o'clock ,, even lower for full on distorted and delayed lead sounds.
When the bass boom is gone ,, the treble and midrange EQ works better , and different amps models have very different treble and midrange response.
Sounds like the VT100 has similar issue. This amp has an fx loop so it can be fixed, but before trying that, try lowering the bass knob. I know it seems like drastic to lower the bass so much, but the usefull range on my VT50 seems to be between 8 to 10 o'clock, the louder and more distorted always lower than 9 o'clock.

The stock speakers are, to be fair, only budget speakers. A speaker upgrade could be the answer, to better handle bass response - in fact, it could enhance all frequency response, playing dynamics, and general tone.
