The Vox SDC-55 double-cutaway? Hello everyone. Could someone here at Vox please direct me to a good quality guitar case for the SDC-55? A guitar case which the SDC-55 fits in perfectly and safe. Thank you, Tony

Do they not come with their own case?

No, they come in a Gig Bag. (a "Deluxe" Gig Bag). I need a hardshell, quality case to keep it well protected and secure.

This is a £1,000 guitar - I'm very surprised that at this price point it doesn't come with a hard case as standard. The product info refers to a deluxe gig bag as standard, but some store ads say it comes with a semi rigid hardshell case (which isn't so bad).

I have a Daphne blue Fender American Standard Strat Limited Edition (lovely guitar) that retails at about £800-£850 and comes with an excellent Fender/SKB Case, Cable, Strap, & Polishing Cloth (here's a pic): -

But if I was spending £1,000 on a guitar I'd expect a proper hard case & would not want or expect to have to fork out more money & have the inconvenience of trying to find a case that fits.

In particular, bear in mind that the new Vox guitars also have a rather unique curved body shape so without physically taking the guitar into a store & trying different cases, or being given a steer by Vox or internet ads as to what type of case fits, I'd not want to take a chance & just order one that looks OK.

If I find anything that might fit, I'll post again.

Exactly, Rich. Hence the reason I came here to ask this question. The unigue shape and contours of the guitar's body, dictate a matching case. I'll see if I can contact Vox, directly. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

I spoke with someone at Korg/Vox, yesterday. He looked into it for me. He said the SDC-55 comes with a "semi-rigid gig bag". I'm not entirely sure what that means. But he said there are specifically designed hardshell cases for the SDC-55 (and the SSC-33 series, for that matter).

Unfortunately, he put me on hold and transfered me to a customer service rep; which of course put me into the "Hold" mode. I was on hold for a very long time. I received work-related phone calls while I was on hold and I had to hang-up and take the calls.

I never had the opportunity to call back. So I'll have to wait till Monday to call back and and get the model numbers of these cases.

I also need a hardcase for a VOX SSC-55. Otherwise I can't fly with it. A "Rigid gig bag" doesn't cut it.

The Virage VGSCCase will fit. Any VOX dealer can special order them for you.

last year I spent weeks trying to purchase a Vox Hard Case for my Vox SSC33. I spoke with customer service who also told me that the Virage VGSCCase will fit and that "any VOX dealer can special order them for you". I must have called a half dozen dealers and each told me they were not able to order it for me.

So....... I've been holding out with hopes that Vox will begin selling the Hard Cases, but it's not looking good. It's too bad, as the hard case (I own a Vox Virage as well) fits like a glove and I'm willing to spend the money if they were interested in selling it to me.

I searched high a low for a hard case with decent locks (ATA certified ideally) for my for my single cut 55. I found that the neck was too long or if the neck fitted the body was too wide :(

It would fit in the VOX Virage and standard hard cases but the locks arn't good enough to travel half way around the world :(

Had to leave it at home, now stuck playing a Yamaha Pacificia (pretty good, but no vox 55!!)

I hope vox make a High End case for their guitars, I would happily pay full price for one!

Can't you find someone to replace the locks on the Virage case?

I recently got a SSC 55 and like many others I'm looking for a hard case for it. Any ideas are welcome.

I just got the Official Vox Hard case for the SDC and SSC series guitars. It fits my SDC33 perfectly. Here is the site I got it from directly and quickly - http://shop.korgusa.com/p/vgsccase?pp=6&pp=6
