Has anyone tried or know if the combo cabinet will accomodate a 10" Alnico speaker?

Yeah I'm going to answer my own question after opening the back of amp up again. No way an alnico is going to fit.

Perhaps loading it in another box to use as an extension cab would be in order. Hate to see you not take advantage of a 10" Alnico!!!!! Especially with the AC4's circuitry.

Have you looked at Weber BlueDog speakers? There may be another brand of 10' that is Alnico, but not Celestion. Try Jensen as well or Eminence.

Yeah i was just kind of hoping to be able to get one in the combo as its alot more convenient.
I've only ever had Weber Alnicos. Love them. Still, definitely not enough room in the combo for anything other then a ceramic speaker. I did swap out the stock speaker for an older Celestion Blue ceramic blue dog.

i just did a speaker upgrade for the Ac4tv combo, i really wanted to install
the Celestion G10 Gold but the bell housing is too deep on the Gold,
so i installed the next best a Celestion G10 Vintage with 8ohm,
WOW is all i can say VOLUME thru the roof going from 16 to 8ohm speaker, doing the ohm change you effectively double the amp output from 4 to 8 watts, downside you just can't use the attenuation switch anymore unless you change resisters inside, not my concern as want LOUD not less, i also upgraded my pre-amp tube 12AY7-EH (gold pin), i get cleans all way up past 3 o'clock on the volume, just what i wanted with my telecaster
