VT30 hum Buzz

Hi All,

I have a VT30 since like 3 months and I really love the sound of it. It fits perfectly my style of playing (a little bit of everything) and it is a lot of fun. However, I think I'm having the same problem as this guy here: vt30-problems-stop-me-going-insane-t3010.html
My vt30 is making a noticeable hum, even without anything connected to it and with all dials cranked down to 0. I'm pretty sure that this hum wasn't there before. I'm not sure if it is the same, but I have a Bass amp also and it doesn't make any hum, so I think the electric lines are clean (it is no tube amp, but a solid state Ashdown perfect 10)
I can play quite OK even with the hum on the amp, but the it is there and bothers me more and more every minute. What I'm afraid is that it might get worse, or it might actually die, like described by the guy on the mentioned post. So my questions:

1) is it normal to have hum? how is it with your VT30?

2) Is there a way to know if the electric lines are the culprits?

3) Should I send it back to where I mail ordered it?

Please help, as I really love this amp and I'll hate to lose it.

Thanks,

LEo

Hi
I've had my VT30 just over three weeks, used it maybe four times the BUZZ is driving me nuts !
Been reading around what to do---what other people are trying to get rid of it.

What I've found, the only way to neutralize it is by plugging in a Headphone set---that cuts the speaker off---and it's then quiet.
Other thing I notice, no matter what it's set like when it's switched off-----upon switching it back on--------totally different settings. On the brink of taking it back to Guitar Center frankly--maybe try a VT50 ?--Not sure what to think. I "little " disapointed.

Try another amp - sounds as if there may be a problem with yours.

Thanks VOXMAN, -- logic tells me it's something to do with the speaker "electrics", for want of a better term.
Once the the Headphones are plugged in, the Amp is quiet.
There is still the issue of settings not holding, so has to be exchanged I suppose.

Thanks again.

Returned My VT30 this afternoon , didn't have another in stock, so got a credit for the full amount paid.
Now I'm thinking maybe of an all Tube Vox, but will miss out on some effects that I like. Came across "Tonelab", so maybe , all Tube something, --has to be Vox and Tone Lab ?-- Have to see the $$ amounts I guess,
Thanks again for your previous input Voxman.
