I am trying to determine if it's normal for the Vibrato channel to be softer (volume-wise) than the Normal channel (the Brilliant channel is obviously the loudest of the three). It also seems to sound a little thinner than the Normal channel. With the Brilliant channel at 9:00, I have to set the Normal channel at around 11:00 to be of equal volume (this is normal), but I have to set the Vibrato channel to around 1:00 to be equal to the 9:00 Brilliant volume level (this doesn't seem normal). A tech support guy at Korg said that this was normal, but I swear I remember the Normal and Vibrato channels being the same, volume-wise. Thanks!
Yes, It is normal for the Vib/Trem channel to lower in volume that the other two.
The variation in the vib/trem channel gives the illusion of volume difference. There's really not much difference between the 2. The important thing to remember is you can't lace (daisy chain the brilliant channel with either of the others. The Brilliant channel is out of phase with the others and can cause bad problems for you. You can use a Leile 3 way splitter per Don Butler (Toneman) and be able to use all channels as they should be. Hope this helps.
I beg to differ. While, yes, the Brilliant channel is out of phase with the Normal and Vib-Trem channels, folks have been linking those channels for DECADES with great effect.
