Dear all,
I have been monitoring all of your V1.5 comments over the last few days and for some users there seems to be an issue with audio not working or dropping out. This can, in some cases can be corrected by adjusting the hardware response slider, but often this fix is only temporary and the audio may drop out again.

I know that the JamVox development team also monitor this forum closely and I have contacted them about this issue. They have been looking in to this and will be trying to resolve it as soon as they can.

There have been some unhelpful comments assuming that V1.5 was released without any testing. This is not the case and V1.5 has been in a beta testing stage since the end of August. In addition it is sent to all major Vox distributors around the world so that it could be tested on as many local computers as possible. The above issue did not manifest its self and many users have upgraded without problems. There is always a risk with any software of this type that is upgraded on mass as the software can be affected by many variables on individual’s computers. We try to do everything possible to minimise this and your patients is always appreciated while we look in to ongoing problems.

I think the frustration comes from the fact that this sort of thing seems to happen with every release. Personally I've never had an issue with any release until now. I get the sound dropping out problem. I work as a Product Manager for a software house so if you need any help testing fixes or tracing the problem let me know.

What about the issue with GXT settings not being compatible between 1.1 and 1.5? It's very frustrating to have to go and do all my GXT settings again and have the library of uploads on this site become worthless.

We are very sorry that some users are experiencing a lack of audio or audio dropouts with the new JamVOX v1.50 for PC. After investigation, we have found that the problem occurs only on some specific PCs.

We would appreciate the help of JamVOX users who are experiencing this problem by trying out the Hotfix below and then posting any detailed feedback on this forum.

Our sincere apologies and your contribution is greatly appreciated.

The new fix has solved the audio dropouts. At least for me. In version 1.50 I had a dropout after about 10 sec.
Thanks

Fixed the audio dropouts for me, but has returned the audio to the sound quality of a speaker in a goldfish bowl.

And yes I have followed Vox's advice and adjusted my pc for performance.

I wish this thing would just work.

I purposefully have not downloaded this as I expected all kinds of problems. I'm still using 1.10 as 1.11 wouldn't even load on my laptop. In case I do though is it necessary to first uninstall? Can I also say that I have Line 6 stuff and that company are constantly upgrading their stuff and everytime I upgrade there's never a problem. So how come Vox has nothing but problems. I'd appreciate an answer Mr. Vox. Thanks. (If it carries on like this then I can see the upcoming Boss eband js-8 completely usurping this product).

To answer the question about whether it is necessary to first uninstall JamVOX before installing a new version.

It is not necessary to uninstall JamVOX as the installer will completely uninstalls the previous version automatically before installation of the new version.

Hope this helps

Just a thought - most uninstallers will leave behind registry entries in a program that can be problematic. Is this an issue as I was wondering if old registry items need deletion manually?

For some reason?? my post regarding problems with 1.5 was deleted. I then noticed a comment about some members being unhelpful within some posts. I believe Jamvox has so much potential, which is why I bought it. I would hope I am a valued customer, as I also have 3 other Vox products. Members stating their frustrations are being constructive if their views are acted upon (hence 1.51?) I am downloading 1.51 now, hope it cures my problem. Will continue to support Vox products as I have for over 30 years.

Apologies, found post in another thread.
Have had 1.51 running for half an hour, no cutting out problems, but had to tweak some program settings as the didn't seem the same? Any other member have same?

I have a suggestion that the version 1.51 doesn't make:
My download in the vue beside the logo Vox doesn't show the list alphabetically even though we can do that in the main list at the bottom ( not at the top).
It'll be a good help to find at the top a particular guitar program.
Have a nice day

It's so good to hear that many of you with the 1.5 problem are now getting it working. I fortunately, have never had any problems with Jamvox and I know 3 other players like me, so we're all Jamvox fans.

I certainly don’t want to annoy any of my fellow forum users here and this post is only concerning the 1.5 problem, but I'd like to bring some balance as I think some complaints about 1.5 problems have not been reported in the best way. ( I also want to make sure Vox give us more free upgrades)

We mustn't forget that this was an unexpected free upgrade from Vox that adds some nice usable features. I know it's very frustrating when it didn't work for some people, but I totally agree that some comments were unhelpful as many failed to give full details of their problem and what systems they were running. Instead they rant and make unfounded statements like "75% of user can't use it" and "do Vox only test it on one PC". It must be a real bummer to have problems with gear like Jamvox but actually you are in a minority and not part of 75%, more like part of 0.75%. What counts is if a company does its best to fix things for the small minority. In this case the original upgrade 1.5 was issued last Thursday (I think), problems were reported over the weekend and Vox issued a fix on the following Monday. I think that's ok, don’t you?

I just hope Vox continue the development with more Jamvox upgrades and are not put off by the comments of some understandably disgruntled Jamvox users.

Now I shall take the advice of the late great Frank Zappa

I experienced the audio freeze as well and tryed the hotfix.

Playing for two hours now, no freeze.

Before it was frozen about every 15 minutes.
I'm still missing the automatic lauch of JamVox after plugin.

But with the new reverbs i'm somewhat grateful with the result. :)

Hardware:

HP Pavillion Lap, 2Gb Memory, 90 GB Disk plenty free space.
No specials, no extras.
