Tonelab LE with AC15CC1

I purchased a "preowned" AC15CC with an updated reverb tank (forget the name) and Celestian Greenback. Sounds Great! My question: I would like to use my Tonelab LE for the effects and bypass all amp and cab modelling. Has anyone done this and how would you say the tone is? I love the amp tone and don't want to muck it up.

Suggestions?

Mmmmmm....I'm thinink about doing the same thing. Played an AC-15 a couple weeks back and left with a bad case of GAS!! I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see how it turns out for ya.

Apparently, no one uses the Tonelab LE without modelling an amp/cab??? That's a shame.

Reading various forums, other folk have said that the amp and cab modelling can be bypassed in the TLLE. I don't own one myself but having read the manual I can't immediately see how this is done (?).

If you already know how, why not just try it to see how you get on. If you don't know how hopefully someone with a TLLE (or even Vox) can explain how its done.

If it can be done, the thought occurs that you might be quite limited on effect choice simply because of how the TLLE is set up - it's primarily an amp modeller with effects added for extra flexibility. I'm wondering that if you don't want modelling, whether a pure non-modelling MFX (eg Boss ME20/ME50) might be a better route to go in any event?

Rich - that was my thought as well. Since playing through a "real" Vox amp, I believe that I have found my tone. I love the effects modelled in the LE but are limited to what is in the program. Making changes on the fly (while playing on stage) is just not practical. I really like the modulation in the LE and would like to duplicate that but use more than the one bank at a time. I also dread the idea of using a lot of effects. My dream is great guitar (check), great amp (check), modulation effect box.

Does that make sense? Any suggestions?

This seems to be the most relevant thread for my question and I can't find out how to start a new thread...

I have a Tonelab SE and have been using it for about 2 years now. I'm in the market for an amp to compliment it, so I have been looking at the AC30 a lot. The problem I have is that I want to keep the ability to change tones and sounds with my feet easily with the TLSE, but still have the amazing tone of the AC30. Would it be a good idea to let the Tonelab handle all the effects?

Most of the patches I use regularly are AC-30 based. So I'm also thinking about running the TLLE in front of a REAL amp and having banks of pre-programmed stomp boxes and effects. IMHO, it was worth the money to find the tone my soul has been searching for.

Absolutely Parmatele! I freakin DIG my AC15!
I can "bypass" the amp models and just use the effects but using multiple effects is a bit tricky. You have to pre-create the sets of effects that you want: delay + chorus, or delay + chorus + OD. This can be tedious (no, this IS tedious) but you create one patch and duplicate it, then add the next effect to the one you just duplicated. Also, be careful of the levels. Different effects have slightly different levels. Does this make sense?

hi, i have an ac 30 top boost, and i love the sound, but i also have a tonelab blue first one you could get, and i thought i would use my rodger mayer csossroads a/b pedal so i have the straight ac 30 sound and then the other would go to my tonelab and then into ac 30 other channel. has anyone done this, which channel did you use for tonelab, how did you set volumes on tonelab to be the same as when going to straight ac 30, including the output volume, i think that's enough for now, please help, freddie.

freddie - i kept my tonelab pedal opened up with the volume pedal then adjusted the volume of my amp to whatever i wanted. I used the tonelab pedal to reduce the volume from there (keeping the playing volume around 85%) and leaving the extra 15% for coming out in a solo or whatever.

My AC15 has only one channel...I think?

Freddie, if your AC30TB has an effects loop, you might be happier running your TLLE through it. I use the software to tweak patches, then assign them to banks of similar stuff, depending on what songs I'm playing. Having a little fun this week with a Blackstar HT-DIST in the FX loop of the TLLE, then direct out to PA. Kinda silly looking setup, but I like the Blackstar better than the stomp box models.

Brent - you can always play your patches in "Edit mode" and kick the effects in and out at will. I will agree, though, that doing that makes it a hassle to change patches on the fly, but I don't see any remedy for that with the current TLLE setup.
