Hi Im interested if anyone has used an e80f instead of the ef86. I hear the are better for less or no microphonics. Any know it the are ok for the vox handwired heritage amps?

If the E80F is interchangeable with an EF86 (ie:just as a 12AX7 can be substituted with a 12AY7, 12AT7 etc.) then there's no problem. It HAS to be interchangeable though - same pin out etc.

I read that putting ef806 there is no problem for the amp but e80f I didnt read anything about it.
And what about sound differences?

Don't know the ratings for these pin-compatible types (to the EF86) but, one effect will be a reduction in gain! (like a 12AY7 is about 70% the gain of a 12AX7. Don't know why you would want to do that to the EF86 channel??? To aid you microphonics worries, try a NOS Dario Miniwatt EF86. Brand, new 30 year old FABULOUS (and TOUGH!) EF86. Mike Zaite of Dr. Z fame (sorry, Mike - I bought the AC30H2) LOVES these and ordered a bunch recently for his production. I get them at kcanostubes.com or tubeworld.com.

I was told the ef80f was a better tube. Not a lower gain. No big deal. I got some valvo ef86 tubes now and like them. I have grown fond of the top boost section now :) Turned up all the way with my strat or tele.

Not deaf yet. I like to play loud. I used to have 2 marshall half stracks in my house. I dont allways dime it. I use a pedal too.. Sometimes I just play clean. After I got my ac4tv,I had to get the ac15. :)

Yes, sounds familiar. I picked up an AC4TV a few months ago, which was meant to kill my Vox GAS. Well, I have an AC15H1TV now too, and really dig it. Now if Vox would only reissue the AC 100 / Mk II head (and a 4x12 with Alnico Golds, an 2 MIdax horns!!!!) I will have all my Vox needs filled. :) FWIW, the AC15H1TV is the best sounding amp I've played in a very long time.
