Both are good - each has their 'charms' - for example, 2x12" gives a bigger fuller tone than a 1x12" - and in the 50w version that was only available in the ADxxVT series. Your version also has auto-wah, something not available on the VT's. Both series sound good - the VT's are after all only the next version, building on what was in the ADxxVT series. The new VT's have the advantages stated earlier.

My amp is the AD120VTX - just because newer versions have come out doesn't mean my Valvetronix isn't still a great amp even if it only has 16 original amp models and not 22 new ones based on the 'Black Diamond' prototype.

As with any piece of gear, it's how YOU use it that matters, not what I or anyone else thinks!

I'm afraid you're getting confused with the new 'VT' series (which has 22 amp models, 8 user presets, global reverb, & 3 sets of 22 factory presets, different effect options).

You have the original first generation 'chrome' Valvetronix series (11 amp models, 2 user presets, 1 set of factory presets, reverb is not global, effects are different).

The new VT series in 50w form is only available as a 1x12" combo and not the 2x12" version that you have.

I suggest you read the manual to better understand the amps features. A copy can be loaded down from the support section here (the AD50VT and AD50VT-212 have exactly the same functionality & controls).
