Aren't there two types of screws for a CC.?
Machine screws that go into the chassis, and "wood" screws that go into the cab.?
I assume you are talking about the screws that hold the back panel onto the amp.....
Just use drywall screws for the wood.
I imagine the machine screws are metric. They cannot ALL be completely stripped. Take a decent one to the hardware store and just see what nut fits the screw.
Best

I recently replaced the tubes on my AC30cc2 and over half of the screws stripped. I couldn't believe how soft they were. Does anyone know the size of the screws used on the AC30cc series? I can't seem to find any matches or any info on what size they are.

Thanks.

I am looking for a set of replacement protection corners to buy here in Europe for my Vox 412 BN. These corners are the same as the corners for the CC-Series of amplifiers. They are not manufactured anymore. The new ones do not fit!

From my knowledge only North Coast Music still offer them in the US. The Corners are called the "Modern Two Pin" Genuine Vox Corners.

Is there any distributer/dealer in Europe?

I have a three year old AC15CC1 that has a horrible 60Hz hum problem as soon as an instrument cable(with or without a guitar on the other end) is plugged into the input. With no input, there is no noise out of the amp until the top boost and/or master volume are cranked.

I just replaced all four stock tubes with JJ 84s and GT 12ax7s.

It seems the likely culprit is something in the input circuitry. Has anyone experienced an issue similar to this with this amp?

I have sufficient analog electronics knowledge, so I would like to save money and make this repair myself.

Thanks in advance.

I wish that was the case.. But I double checked and I removed the right components. I think I am just going to replace the new resistors I put in with the old ones.

It appears you may have removed a wrong component while performing your mods, reverse all the modifications back to the original and see if the amp works.

In the future, it is best to install and test each mod one at a time, making any repairs needed to make it work correctly before moving on to the next mod.

Also, always leave bread crumbs along the path (make notes of the values and where the components are located that you are changing), makes it easier to trouble shoot when needed.

What's up guys? My name is CJ im new to the forums.. I have had my ac-15 custom classic for about 2 years now, and it has been a very good amp to me these past 2 years. My problem starts here. Last week I decided to do the popular "bright cap mod". After completing the mod, my amp had a loud low frequency hum but still played great, so I thought maybe a preamp tube was going bad or something.
However 3 days later when ever I would strum a chord the sound of the chord would get loud then get dimmer at the same time and just loose major tone quality which I thought was just plain weird.. However, I thought I just needed some new preamp tubes. So a couple days after that, I performed some other mods to my amp including the " V4 resistor mod ", and " The tone cut resistor mod ".
Well after performing these 2 mods I plugged my amp in and barely got any sound at all.. I could barely hear my guitar with the master volume turned up all the way. My volume knob is not even working now, and the amp is making a high frequency buzz as well. I tried replacing my preamp tubes, however this did not solve the problem.
All of my tone knobs, including the tremelo and reverb knobs are working properly, but I literally have no volume and an extremley loud buzz now. Could the power amp tubes be bad? Or maybe I heated up the pcp board to much and damaged it when I was sodering?

If anyone has a clue what is going on here please help me out...

Thanks for your time.
CJ
