I finally just decided its not worth the hassle and I bought a Live WIre Solutions ABY box and it works just great. I dont know what I will do with the FSV2, I guess I will sell it on CL.

The new AC15C2 sounds really great and I am very happy with it !!!

I ordered the VFS2 and will never use it. So I would like to take the box and drill some holes and install the right parts so that I can have a AB/Y box with LED's so that when my new Vox AC15C2 shows up in a few days, I can use the ABY to change from regular to top boost channels.
I looked at other DIY sites, and some use transformers and circuit cards, but I just want to do a simple box, with a 9v
battery for the LED lights that show what is what.

I just need some help in ordering the parts. I need 2 dpdt foot switches, but will they both be the same, and its just
the wiring that changes to make it work the way I need? and the in jack on the guitar needs to be stereo or something so that when plugged in, the led's come on and unplugged it turns off?

http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/PB-176/DPDT-MOMENTARY-PUSHBUTTON-SWITCH/1.html site has
most of the stuff I will need, as I dont think Radio Shack will have the parts. I changed my pups in my guitar and so I can follow simple directions and can soldier ok.

Thank you for any help with what to get, I appreciate it very much.

Yes, you can input two guitars, one in the normal and one in the top boost without hurting the amp.

i've asked this before and was ignored, but i'll try it again here:

is it okay to run two different guitars into the Normal channel and Top Boost channel at the same time? will this do any harm to the amp?

You will not get a volume boost. It will give you a gain boost as all preamp tubes are running in parallel.

And if you are running both channels (not just switching between them) does this just provide a more complex/flexible tone, or do you get a volume boost as well? I'm going to test it out tomorrow night at my jamspace, but I'm curious to know how people are using it. Also, another option that I assume will work (and the one that I will be trying) is using both the output and the bypass on a boss (or similar) tuner pedal - you loose the option to completely mute your guitar during tuning, but assuming you don't care, it's another way you can split your signal. I've used it to run through 2 amps at the same time before.

Yes you can use an ABY pedal to toggle between the normal and top boost channels (or run them at the same time and blend them.
I have an ABY on my board that I use to do just that.

okay with that, but does this preduct make it possible to have one jack in each channel and switch between the two?

I asked a similar question previously and this was the response from one of the admins:

"The only way to do this would be to use a ‘Y’ adapter lead, or an A/B switch box that allows both A & B output to be active simultaneously. This effectively is connecting your guitar to both inputs."

Thought you'd like to know.
