My Mini3 is perfectly noise free when the fx are off. Turn on the reverb and the hiss is immediately present. For mine, the hiss does not get louder as you turn up the amp. Therefore it is most noticeable when playing quietly. Unfortunately, I only want to use the mini3 for quiet playing. I'm always running off batteries. Wish it was just my amp, but it sounds like all mini3s...

Sounds like an analog/digital converter issue also (too) well known to the VoxVT+ community.

Put your ear to the speaker. I'm pretty sure you'll hear it there also.

I have a DA5 that sounds great through the speaker, but with headphones, I get a digital-sounding "fizz" at the end of each note. It isn't overdrive, it's a hash-y, static-y fizzing noise. I've tried multiple headphones with the same result. I've also tried using different power supplies and running it on batteries -- no change. Anyone else have this issue or know of a solution? Thanks.

Ahhh I just read the vox repairs and servicing bit. I now want to add my amp was out of warranty and I don't advise anyone doing this repair themselves. I had help from a qualified electrical engineer friend of mine and the repair was conducted in a professional and safe manor.

Also I've had to repair the pcb connection for the main power lead input on my DA5. The Pcb cracked across the bit it joins to so i managed to bridge it with solder. So anyone having trouble with the power cutting out, that could be the cause.

I think this is normal, I have the DA5 and I'm awaiting delivery of the vt40+ but in the reviews and problems I heard, I think this is just how it's setup. Im no expert but id take it easy in the gain, put it on full 5w and turn down your guitars volume knob to try and balance the sound

Yes, way cool, I still have my old Korg MS-20, and with the external signal input one can get the most far out envelope following and modulated filtering effects out of it.

I guess I should expand on the "meh".

As a guitarist I'm not excited over the amphones, this new mini 5 or the Stomplab line, but bumped into Korg has recreated (at 86% of the original's size) a synth released in 1978 called the MS-20. Full analog circuitry. AND you can plug a guitar into it! THAT has me excited!

A somewat higher wattage (something between 30-50W) Pathfinder with 10" or 12" speaker and a larger spring reverb tank would be ace.

Meh. Already have a mini-3. If I were looking for something like this, I'd be much more interested in the new Roland Cube lite. Way better feature set.

I hope there will be news of a new Pathfinder soon to make up for the underwhelming showing at NAMM. Perhaps with a ten or twelve inch speaker? Maybe at Muskmesse 2013.

I think the AC15 Twins have been out for a while.

The mini 5 is a pretty underwhelming product announcement; just a combination of the RhythmVox amps and the mini3/DA5 with the old, ugly chrome grill.

Just looked on the product page and found the new Mini 5. It looks much like a DA-5 from the front but when you look at the top view there are some enhancements! First, the effects are discreet, not blends and also, there is a a section for rhythms!

The effects are divided by two categories so that you can have two effects on at once. Additionally, there is an aux input!

Very cool. . .hopefully this is just the first of several new products from NAMM! Can't wait to see more. .

I routinely run a chain of several effects into my Mini 3 with no ill effects. As long as you don't turn up the gain and masters of pedals such as distortion and overdrive too much and damage the little speaker, they weren't meant to take any more volume than the amp can produce on its own.

I assume you mean background hiss with no input?
Yes, it is noticeable on headphones. Disturbing, well that would depend, if there's no input then it could be annoying but once playing I wouldn't think so. Mind you it does get louder with the delay effects. It's not affected by the volume controls either.
