I think that JV3 should save the tuning adjustments that the user makes to the track. Often, the track is out of tune and I'd rather adjust the tuning on JV3. Only problem is that I have to adjust the pitch every time I load the tune. I MUST be doing something wrong. Any ideas?

Hi everybody,

I have this terrible problem when conecting the Tonelab EX via USB to the computer... It´s supposed that when conecting the TLEX via USB the sound card doesn´t intervene, so the TL acts as a sound card itself, with its own driver, that can be downloaded here... so what´s the problem? I have a terrible latency and I you can´t configure the driver to manage this issue... Any idea?

Thanks!

4CM shouldn't do any harm as long as you didn't connect the FX out to the input of the amp by accident, you would have a lot of feedback if you did ;-)

I would try changing each pre-amp tube one at a time to see if you can find a dud.

I haven't got a problem with locating suppliers but knowing what to ask for? There are so many of these devices available with all slightly different specs and I want to make sure I get the correct one.

Hello!

I just got my Vox AC30cc2, and I liked the way it sounded with my Boss Gt-8 connected to the amp's front input, but I wanted to try the 4CM... i tried it, liked it, but in the end I find it more versatile to use the front imput of the amp and model the sound with the GT-8. Well, but that's not the issue, the problem appeared after i unplugged everything and went back to the front input and started to hear this humming/hissing coming out from the amp (i started to worry), so i disconected everything again, went only with my guitar to the fron input and start over, but the noise wouldn't go away... so again, i disconected everything, let everything cool down for an hour or so and again turned everithing back on, when the power switch is on there is no noise, but when i turn on the stand by switch at the beginning there is no noise, but when it loads up, the noise increases until it reaches and stable level depending on the volume level.
I checked the Top Boost channel and it is even worse, the hissing is even louder and when I run it with overdrive the amp lost it's particular tone and the sound with any OD/DS it's just horrible...
I did some tests with the GT-8 and the noise goes away when I put down all the volume with the volume pedal, it simply disappears. My main question is, Could it be that with the 4CM i could've damaged the input or something in the amp? Or can it just be a Valve that went dead and that's why I cannot get definition on the output sound?

Any helpful comment will be very appreciated!
Regards!

Keeping guitars and hardware clean and crisp is great, after all real equipment is expensive and looking after it makes sense, but this is a guitar studio simulation - anything is possible ! Vintage gear is highly sought after for its tone, and everything ages including guitars, amps and studio equipment creating a mojo all of its own. Some people prefer a vintage vibe. To have the vintage or new skin option would be great.

I plugged my VT40+ into my old Ashton 80w amp that has a Celestion Seventy 80 12" speaker and it sounded at least 10 times better. Seriously, the stock speaker in these VT+ amps are pretty terrible. If I was able to simply swap the celestion for the vox speaker I would, regardless of warrenty issues. But alas the VT40 needs a 10"...

Seriously though it was an outstanding difference.

The first rehearsal is done!

And the results are very satisfying. To mention before: I took the two 12AX7 out and gave two 5751s a try. Usually I do not use much distortion, so the 5751s with a gain factor of 70 are strong enough for my use.
- Very nice! I will keep it until the run in period of the internal speaker is passed. And they have a great chance to stay where they are.

For the basic adjustment I went this way: The gain and volume pot at 1-2 o'clock and the guitar's pots rolled back until there is more or less no overdrive. The tone knobs of the guitar can be rolled back a lot, too. The result is a creamy vintage tone (what I prefer most!). For more distortion You can open the guitars pots or raise the gain at the amp. Yummy!

Bass and treble of the amp at 12o'clock is a fine set up to start with. Lowered bass and raised treble makes this vintage feeling stronger.

The tone of the amp is "boxy" but not cheap. It just sounds like in the old days with a lot of growling. Great!

Then I took out the V112NT cab... (Notice that the manual says You should turn off the amp before connecting/ disconnecting an external speaker!!!)
Wow! A totally different amp! The clean range is much bigger and louder and it offers a full, rich and warm tone, THE AC tone! Those who are looking for a VOXish blues tone should try this. Just fine!

My result is that I did not a mistake in ordering this amp. I does exactly what it was bought for. I am sure this amp will be at my side for decades...

Those who are wondering if it is suitable for small gigs: Yes! Only the combo used it delivers a more distorted tone, with an open back cab it can deliver enough cleans for small gigs up to 40-50 persons.

@VOX:
There is just one thing I did not understand completely: the bass pot!
Until 12o'clock it behaves like every bass dial, after 12-1 o'clock there is no addition of bass at all. It would be very kind to explain it (here and in the manual), too. Does it influence only the mids after that point?! (Could not hear it).

I like all my toys crisp and clean. All my hardware amps, stomps and guitars are this way as well. Beat up gear doesn't do anything for me. OK, I must admit that I do like some of the UI on certain vintage AT3 models. I'm new to JV3 so I'm not familiar with the L&F of the previous versions.

Hey christuff3r,

I might be experiencing the same problem, I get some kind of hum as soon as the "stand by" green light goes on and eventually you can hear an increasing volume, I tried both TB and clean channel and you can tell on the TB channel that the frequencies on the output get some kind of dull and it sounds like crap! and at some points you can hear some kind of down of power (kinda like a tremolo effect) and it suddenly ramps up again. Obviously the clean channel doesn't seem affected that much (apart from the constant humming) but the TB or when I use my GT-8 with some OD/DS it really affects the sound.

Did you get to solve your problem? Can anyone hel on this?

Thanks a lot!

As stated by sizzlin.....You may have to install a plug on your speakers so you can get the Z in between the OT and the spks.
Maybe you can plug the Z into the External jack and then plug your speakers into the Z.?
What connectors are on that thing exactly.?
Best
and save your 40 dollars. nobody here needs to start doing that.

By the way how do I access the global eq through line 2

See bottom of p25 of the manual (you can load down a .pdf copy from the 'Support' tab above, if you don't have one), but the section is below: -

USING THE THREE-BAND EQUALIZER
If you selected “Ln2” for the “AMP/LINE” setting, you can use the three-band equalizer to adjust the overall tonal characteristics of the sound output from ToneLab LE.
When you select “Ln2” for the “AMP/LINE” setting, the value knobs 2–6 feature the following functions:
NOTE: The equalizer is unavailable if you selected “AP1,” “AP2,” “AP3,” or “Ln1” for the “AMP/LINE” setting.
Value knob 2 “TRIM” Adjusts the input level.
Value knob 3 “LO GAIN” Adjusts the amount of low-range boost.
Value knob 4 “MID FREQ” Specifies the mid-range frequency.
Value knob 5 “MID GAIN” Adjusts the mid-range boost.
Value knob 6 “HI GAIN” Adjusts the high-range boost.

One of the Valvetronix.net members (Paragon) designed an LED mod for the VFS5 pedal, but having seen the work that took & the cost involved, I'd suggest it's not worth the bother for the VFS2.

A cheaper, faster solution would be to buy a Marshall PEDL10013 footswitch which is compatible - only about £20, has LED's, a longer lead, and a tough metal case.

I have recently acquired an AD50VT along with the standard 2 switch Vox footswitch. My question is this...is there a way to add LED's to the switch so that I can at a glance know where I am at regarding my saved settings?

Thanks!!!
