At the age of 14, Newsboys guitarist Bryan Olesen, received his first guitar for Christmas. He was hooked right away. “I used to go over friends houses who had guitars and thought they were so cool. I always had that desire to play,” recalls Bryan.
Currently, Bryan is the newest member of the critically acclaimed Christian rock band, Newsboys. Bryan joined up with Newsboys around the fall of 2003, but the rest of the band has been rockin’ since 1985. Since their first album release in 1989, Newsboys has sold over 5 million albums, had nineteen #1 radio singles, and four Grammy nominations. “It’s cool because Newsboys have been around so long and have developed such a different style that we have a wide demographic of a fan base now,” says Bryan. “When you come to a Newsboys show you get a little taste of many different elements.”
While on the road or in the studio, Bryan Olesen and the rest of Newsboys rely heavily on their VOX Valvetronix heads and cabs. “We literally have six VOX Valvetronix AD412 cabs right behind us while on stage. They’re amazing. I love being able to dial in a tone and get the sound just right for a song,” he explains. “The VOX Valvetronix AD120VTH head is awesome, too! It stays consistent, sounds great and for the price you can’t beat it. We use it all over the Newsboys new album. It’s not just for live setup, it’s also great in the studio.”
Bryan will be using his AD120VTH head and his AD412 cab on the Newsboys newest album, Devotion. To find out tour dates and more info on Bryan Olesen and Newsboys, check out their website www.newsboys.com.
